What are the different model types?

DS-02:
Low price/Value. Capable of measuring 3 items (Solder temperature / Board underside surface temperature / Dip time), using a fixed sensor on the underside of the main unit. The unit supports time logging of the 1st wave. For the 2nd wave, the time is a total of the 1st and 2nd wave times.
DS-03:
Capable of measuring 6 items (Flux height / Flux Drying / Solder height / Solder temperature / Board underside surface temperature / Dip time), using a fixed sensor on the underside of the main unit. Supports dual wave soldering.
DS-05:
Arbitrary type. Capable of measuring 4 items at 3 points (Solder temperature / Board underside surface temperature / Dip time / Conveyor speed), using 3 fixed sensors on the underside of the main unit. Supports dual wave soldering.

2

Can the DS-02 manage the dipping time and dipping temperature in the case of Dual Wave solder baths?

The dip time will be the total time of the 2 combined tanks. As far as the temperature, the peak temperature of either the first or second tank is registered. Because of this, we recommend using the DS-03 for Dual Wave applications.

What is the difference between the MD-03 and MD-9900

MD-03 displays the measured specific gravity, plus a record output function.
MD-9900 displays the measured specific gravity and temperature, a record output function, and upper/lower output terminals.

2

How is the range of relative density decided?

First decide on the specific gravity measurement you intend to target, and select a range where that value lies in the center. Then select a range within 0.1 units.
* The type of Bob used will differ dependant on the range selected.
Example: If the desired specific gravity measurement is 0.8, please choose the range of 0.75 - 0.85.

3

How do I set-up the Specific Gravity Controller

Set-up the Specific Gravity Sensor in a place where the liquid is relatively stationary. If necessary, set up a sub-tank for the installation. A proper measurement cannot be taken if the buoyancy of the liquid is too large.
Please refer to the Bob diagram here for an example of the sensor installation.

4

How do you calibrate it?

A 5g weight attachment is used to calibrate the upper and lower limits.

(Procedure) A 5g weight is hung on the sensor. a small flathead screwdriver is used to adjust the lower limit with the ADJ volume switch to match the specific gravity. Next, the weight is removed, and the GAIN volume switch is adjusted to match the upper limit specific gravity. This procedure is repeated 2 - 3 times.

5

What is the maximum temperature range covered?

Temperatures up to 50 - 60°C are supported. The MD-9900 with temperature correction function is recommended

6
